fifty-two

this page is dedicated to keeping you posted in detail on the fifty-two and then some things that I accomplish in 2012! I will continue to blog about joyful nothingness on my homepage so check that out and i'll tell you to check this page out when an adventure has come up!

six; Adam bought me the Adele concert DVD for Christmas and Sunday night we decided to watch it. I've never actually sat down and watched a concert DVD, and it was incredible. I absolutely love Adele. She's amazing. Her voice moves me. The DVD was amazing, from the time she sang set fire to the rain, to the time it was over, I was in tears. I really hope that she comes to Ontario sometime soon, or even just somewhere somewhat close so that I can see her live! I think i'll be an emotional basket case through the entire concert, but it would be well worth it. No matter how many times I hear her songs they hit me like the first time. PLEASE COME TO ONTARIO ADELE!

five; I've always considered jailbreaking my iphone but I just never actually was brave enough, so I finally decided to just go for it. I used the redsnow link and it only took a few minutes and its the greatest decision ever! I feel like I have a whole new phone. I now have backgrounds in my texting conversations and can change the font! This was definitely a great decision.

four; last weekend we had a girls night and I learned how to play Dutch Blitz! If you haven't played it I suggest you do because its so much fun! I'm not very good at it but it really is a good game to play with your friends while you have some drinks. We actually played it again this weekend and then Adam and I hoped to buy it but they didn't have it :(. SO I decided I'd look on my iphone and see if there's an app for it... AND THERE IS! So exciting :). I've been playing it for two days straight. Sad, I know.

three; my Papa plays the bagpipes (beautifully) and I have always been intrigued by the idea of being able to play them myself. I played in the bagpipe band with him for many years but I was a snare drummer, never a piper. So he lent me a practice chanter and I've decided to take a go at it. I find I have short fingers and the holes seem so far apart but I think I will get the hang of it. So far I'm just teaching myself to play all the notes separately. Maybe I'll have to add video to my blog so you can hear for yourself when I start to be able to make music. Hopefully by the end of 2012 I will be onto the pipes!

two; yesterday I made sundried tomato penne with italian sausage for supper. It was delicious! I added tomato, green pepper, onion, mushrooms, garlic, and basil. Now I have made plenty of pasta in my life but adding sausage to pasta or even eating pasta with sausage is a first for me. I have for some reason just always overlooked the possibility of it being delicious. I eat both separately so I can't tell you why it took me this many years to pair them up. But in the end, it was a success... and I think it will be something I find in my kitchen again!

one; well, we decided to bathe our rotty pup. And actually it went alot better than I had imagined. We used aloe and oatmeal pet shampoo and just bathed her in our bathtub. For the past week I have been placing her in the tub at random times and just rubbing behind her ears to get her comfortable in the tub. Bath day came and we put some warm water into the bottom of the tub, only would have gone up to about my ankles, and then put her in. She basically just froze and gave us that typical puppy dog face. We had filled our brita water jug with warm water and started pouring it on her to get her wet and used to the water. She LOVED the shampooing part, shes a big belly rub fan so at one point she was standing up holding the side of the tub so we could really get to her belly. Anyways after that we turned on the shower part (hand held hose) and rinsed her off. She seemed fine, and gave the big finale when she jumped out of the tub herself and shook and tried to soak me. Adam and I both came out of this nearly dry and I'd say it was a complete success! I know this wasnt very adventurous but I am going to stay true to my blog by blogging about every 'first' that comes up in 2012.
